TTAI Participant Honor Code

The Honor Code sets out the minimum ethical principles needed to preserve harmony and order in a community. Its purpose is to establish basic order and build absolute trust from the earliest stages of community formation.

As selected members of the TTAI community, we take pride in our membership, value the Honor Code, and will lead by example in observing it.

During learning and small-group community activities, we pay particular attention to our own health and safety and that of other members, and do our best to create a healthy and safe community.

We do not disrupt the group atmosphere with unnecessary words or actions. Rather than only raising problems, we approach them with a positive attitude and a creative, flexible commitment to solving them.

We understand the purpose and mission of this program and remain humble and ready to learn. We take care not to package or exaggerate the program unnecessarily.

We take particular care that personal interests do not damage the reputation of a university, the community, or another person, or create conflict among them.

We value creative ideas, do not plagiarize when preparing assignments, and cite references clearly to avoid any question of plagiarism.

We take care not to circulate internal documents outside the group during or around the education program.

We refrain from words or remarks related to someone’s body or sexuality. In the event of misconduct concerning sexual ethics or morality, a participant may be removed immediately, before an investigation by the relevant authorities or law enforcement.

When issues arise, we cooperate to find harmonious, solution-oriented approaches instead of turning to conflict or confrontation. We learn from members’ strengths and do our best to use those strengths to create a positive, friendly community.

We hold a daily compliment relay. We do not speak ill of people or criticize their shortcomings when they are absent.
